Chlamydia is the most common STI and 1 in 12 under 25's have it and most people don't have any symptoms. Chlamydia is easily passed from one person to another through unprotected sex (not using a condom). Any form of unprotected sex can put you at risk of catching Chlamydia, including oral sex. If Chlamydia is not treated it can cause pain and lead to infertility (males and females). You can get a free and confidential test from all Family Planning Clinics and GP surgeries or go to www.freetest.me or text 'TEST' followed by your age and postcode to 60777 for your free, discreet postal test kit or ring 01707 369519 to find your nearest testing site.
Chlamydia testing kits are also avalable free from many Hertfordshire Community Pharmacies (Chemists). An increasing number of pharmacies are also available to provide a free treatment service if a positive diagnosis is confirmed. You can call 01707 369519 to find out which pharmacies provide the screening kits and also provide treatment.
All you need to do is give a urine sample or self-taken vaginal swab. Chlamydia is treated with antibiotics which are free.
