Aspiration and Achievement

Goffs Academy believes that all our students deserve the best possible life chances. Goffs has a strong culture of aspiration, helping students to achieve their full potential.

At Goffs, we have established an Aspiration and Achievement Group to stretch and support our most able. Members of this group are engaged through all aspects of their education and their self-belief is nurtured to ensure students are successful. Throughout the year, many opportunities are put in place for students to further their aspirations by attending numerous events. Some examples include: Aspirational visits/speakers, University visits, target setting sessions, career fairs and workshops.

Students from all key stages make up the Aspiration and Achievement group. The group has been identified based on student abilities and commitment to their academic learning.

Goffs ensures that our students are aspirant in their aims and goals. Last year, the Aspiration and Achievement Group ran a trip to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama with our year 10 students interested in engineering, robotics and space exploration. This trip was a great success with students gaining skills, experience and motivation to aid them in exams, university applications and employment.

The Aspiration and Achievement Group have big plans for the 2017/18 academic year and we will keep you up to date throughout the year on all of the events that are carried out. If you have any queries relating to Aspiration and Achievement, please contact Tom Cahill, Associate Assistant Principal.

To all of our students here at Goffs, remember that you can achieve great things!
