Goffs Programme of Careers, Information and Guidance Education - Sixth Form

We understand that Sixth Form is a crucial step on a student's journey towards further study at University or into their chosen career. Students at Goffs are supported with personalised support, advice and guidance throughout their time in the Sixth Form. Students have regular one to one meetings with their Form Tutors, in addition to support from the Director of Learning and our dedicated Sixth Form Learner Mentor.

Key Theme:

Transition to Employment, Higher/Further Education or apprenticeships. The programme encourages students to plan for their future and identify the qualifications needed to achieve their goals.

Activities Include:

All students have regular one-to-one mentoring meetings with Learning Managers, with a focus on career and further education aspirations at key points in the year

Enrichment days include a focus on careers and employability.

All students take part in a 'Mock Assessment Centre' with interviews and an observed group task run by visiting employers All students attend a period of work shadowing

Students attend talks and have the opportunity to meet with external careers advisors and visiting professionals from various fields

All students attend the Higher Education conference, which also includes various seminars on Apprenticeships and gaining employment

Students who are considering alternatives to University attend the Fresh Horizons and Skills Show trips

Students are given personalised guidance regarding applying for UCAS
