In Memory of Nigel Appleyard

It was with enormous sadness, that we learned that Nigel Appleyard passed away on 26th September, following a long period of illness.

Nigel was a huge part of the Goffs community throughout his 32-year career, as a History teacher and Senior Leader. Nigel was a wonderful, unique, and unparalleled, classroom teacher; and he had an incredible passion for education and teaching History. All students (past and present, which I know includes many of our current parents) who have had the privilege to be taught by Nigel will know that.

Nigel also led on staff training at Goffs (both for trainees new to the profession, and more experienced teachers) for many years, and his influence and legacy will be enduring.

Nigel was a pillar of the Goffs community. His contribution to our school has been immense, and he will be missed enormously.

Nigel's family are raising money for the Royal Free Hospital, in his memory. Donations can be made via the link below:

Although gatherings at this time are restricted by Covid regulations, a memorial and gathering will be held to celebrate and remember Nigel’s life, at the point when larger gatherings are possible.
