Announcement

Goffs Academy will be hosting an Iftar meal and celebration on 18th April 2023, from 7pm in the Sixth Form Common Room, which will finish at approximately 8:30pm. This will be a chance for students, parents and staff to come together as a community and break their Ramadan fast together. The evening will be open to all parents, students and staff from our local community who wish to partake in the breaking of the fast, or simply want to attend and share the experience. We anticipate we can accommodate fifty members of our community, so please see details below regarding notifying us of your attendance.

The evening will comprise of various recitations, stories, prayer, breaking of the fast and eating the iftar meal together, with all invited to contribute in any way they wish to. If you would like to offer to lead a prayer, bring in halal food or offer a recitation from the Quran, please can you contact us on the details at the bottom of this letter. We are particularly looking for parents to speak about their own reflections during this Ramadan period.

We emphasise that this event is open to all. This includes those who are actively observing Ramadan as part of their Muslim faith, as well as those who practice a different religion, or indeed those who are not religious.

So that we are aware of numbers and can accommodate those who attend, please can you respond by emailing us your name and how many tickets you would like, these tickets will be left at reception for you or your child to collect. You will also receive an email confirming your tickets.
