During the week commencing 26th June 2023, the P.E department will be carrying out the Goffs Sports Week. This will be a fantastic opportunity to earn House points at the school. Each year group has a separate day to take part in a number of sports and athletic events. This will include Rounders, Handball, track and field events. The days are as follows:

Year 7: Wednesday 28th June

Year 8: Monday 26th June

Year 9: Thursday 29th June.

For their year group Sports Day, your child needs to come into school in their correct P.E kit. This consists of a Goffs navy polo shirt, Goffs blue shorts or navy sports leggings, blue striped socks or white socks and suitable sports trainers. If the temperature is expected to be cold, students can also wear their Goffs branded zip top and Goffs branded tracksuit bottoms over the top of their Goffs PE kit or a plain dark blue or black tracksuit. A tracksuit is not to be worn instead of the Goffs branded PE kit. They are also allowed to represent their House team by wearing an item of clothing in their House colour. This can either be a t-shirt or socks for example. The house colours are as follows:

Hawk: BLUE

Phoenix: GREEN

Falcon: RED

Eagle: YELLOW

The activities will take place on the field and the astro during the day, so please encourage your child to wear sun tan lotion, bring a sun hat and have plenty of water if the weather is warm and sunny. Also, if your child suffers from allergies such as hay fever, please ensure that they have the correct medication with them. It is advisable that they fill their water bottle up and go to the toilet at break and lunch time so that they can enjoy the full day of activities. If your child does get too hot or has any concerns, they must inform a member of staff.

In addition to their own year group Sports Day, we will also be running the track events on Wednesday 28th June during P4 and P5 for Year 7, 8 and 9, meaning students of Year 8 and 9 should also wear their PE kit on that day.
